Working for 9Line
95% Retention Rate
Our team includes a highly capable recruiting staff experienced in sourcing candidates with diverse backgrounds, experience, and education to meet identified requirements of the positions. We recognize that a stable, committed workforce is critical in meeting the schedule, performance, and cost objectives of any program. Frequent contractor turnover results in loss of program knowledge and causes additional time and cost expended to recruit, hire, and train new personnel. Our team’s retention rate is 95%. That rate is a direct result of our “hire right” process, our commitment to a consistent, positive corporate culture, and philosophy of responsive management and investment in our employees. Our corporate culture is founded on taking care of SOF WIIs. The 9Line team maintains good communication and establishes a shared understanding of the goals and expectations of the employees as well as those of the organization’s.
Our management and leadership maintain an “open-door” policy and believe the key to high job satisfaction lies in a combination of feeling supported, having a quality of work-life balance, and receiving fair compensation/good benefits. We recognize the importance of providing competitive compensation plans with comprehensive employee benefits to attract and retain highly qualified professionals and ensure workforce stability. All team members are offered total compensation packages that (in addition to a competitive base salary) include a variety of benefits, training opportunities, and challenging work that fosters personal growth and encourages contributions to our customers and communities. One of our goals is to identify workload changes as early as possible and react quickly by cross training staff and moving assets from one task to another, to meet customer priorities.
“…I knew that it was truly a privilege to be able to be a part of this noble endeavor of taking care of Wounded Warriors.”
— Scott Heintz | President & CEO
An Employer of Choice
9Line has become the employer of choice due to our many years of relationship-building within the Military’s SOF and Medical communities and reputation of a small business that take great care of its human capital. We firmly believe that when the organization takes good care of its team members, they will in turn take good care of the customers (in our case, the wounded warriors and their families.) We have developed a vast network of contacts and have a candidate pool of experienced individuals who are best qualified to take care of SOF WIIs and their families. One of our most proven, effective and impressive recruiting strategies is word-of-mouth referrals from members of our own work force. We are sought out by experienced retired SOF and Medical leaders who know our reputation and want to be a part of our mission. That network has proven to be self-sustaining as new employees remained connected with the next generation of SOF leaders. This has provided 9Line with a hand-picked work force and a pipeline of qualified, experienced senior leaders that cannot be matched. Our team uses these same recruiting methods to obtain approximately 80% of current staff.
With our active talent pipeline, 9Line is able to be selective in our hiring process. All candidates undergo a formal interview process that includes an HR as well as Technical component. The HR component of the interview process focuses on organizational/cultural fit and alignment of missions/objectives and goals. This interview is typically conducted by a member of the management team and an HR representative. The HR component also confirms that the candidate meets the required level of experience and education for the position, before a Technical interview is scheduled. The Technical interview, typically conducted by a small team to include a member of HR as well as a team member or two who are currently in the same or similar position, focuses on the candidate’s overall qualifications, experience, skills and ability to successfully perform the essential functions required for success on the job. All the while, the hiring team never loses sight of the mission. Those who move on to the Technical interview must have a passion for supporting the SOF WIIs. The candidate’s experience, capabilities, and passion must be aligned with the mission in order for him/her to be selected.
