Mr. Heintz retired as a Colonel after more than 26 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army. Throughout his career, he held various command and staff positions that included Command of "Eagle Dustoff", Delta Company, 326 Medical BN, 101st Airborne Division (AA) during Operation Desert Storm. He also commanded the 52nd Medical Evacuation Battalion in Korea. Mr. Heintz taught at the Army Medical Department's Center and School and served on the Department of the Army's Staff in the Office of the Army Surgeon General. He also served as the Medical Evacuation Consultant to the Army Surgeon General from 2001-2005. Prior to his last duty assignment as the Deputy Command Surgeon at USSOCOM, Mr. Heintz served as the Director of Medical Evacuation Proponency. Upon retirement and prior to his work with the USSOCOM Care Coalition, Mr. Heintz served as the Director of Medical Countermeasures for the Horn of Africa as a contractor for USCENTCOM.

Mr. Heintz holds a BS in Sociology, an MS in Personnel Management, a Masters of Business Administration, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College. His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. He was also awarded the Master Aviator badge, the Expert Field Medical badge, the Parachutist badge and the Air Assault badge.
