John Gianni retired as a First Sergeant after more than 16 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army. Throughout his career, he held numerous leadership positions that included: First Sergeant of St Petersburg Recruiting Company, Tampa Recruiting Battalion, 2nd Recruiting Brigade, San Antonio West Recruiting Company, San Antonio Recruiting Battalion, 5th Recruiting Brigade, Master Trainer, New England Recruiting Battalion, 1st Recruiting Brigade, Center Commander Haverhill Recruiting Center, New England Recruiting Battalion - as well as holding the position of Recruiter in the New England Recruiting Battalion and Seattle Recruiting Battalion, 6th Recruiting Brigade, Bellingham Washington. John enlisted in January 1999, and reported to Fort Lewis Washington as an Engineer, upon completion of IADT.

John Gianni holds a BS in Business Administration and is currently a MS candidate in Human Resource Management, with an expected graduation date of October 2016. His awards and decorations include US Army Meritorious Service Medal x2, Army Commendation Medal x2 and Army Achievement Medal x5. John also received the coveted Glen E Morrell Award, the highest recruiting award for recruiting excellence, as well as multiple recognitions by numerous Senior Leaders throughout his tenure in USAREC.
