|TBI Clinical Educator - Silver Springs, MD
The TBI Clinical Educator serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pre-deployment/deployment education training. S/he provides training and education relating to TBI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned)
- Serves as SME for pre-deployment/deployment education training.
- Assists in the development of plans, designs, manages, and carries out actions to accomplish assigned program areas.
- Provides input during strategic planning for TBI and PH clinical, research, resilience and training programs.
- Interfaces with DoD/VA/DVBIC/DCoE leaders, TMA and OASDHA requests and provides input in response to taskers related to TBI.
- Conducts briefings and training/education within and outside of DVBIC/DoD/VA/DCoE on matters related to TBI as requested/directed.
- Serves as a technical advisor for deployment related education program development, administration and evaluation.
- Provides input in the formulation and establishment of policy and objectives.
- Provides expert advice on program requirements and procedures to all Services requiring such programs.
- Assists in the establishment of criteria by which resilience programs are evaluated and assessed.
- Assists in the planning of program reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of specific resilience programs to ensure they meet the criteria and are in compliance with regulations and laws.
- Performs other duties consistent with the above listed responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience post Masters working in TBI programs is required.
- Experience in managing DoD, national, state or regional-wide TBI clinical programs within the DoD/VA/Federal Health System is strongly preferred.
- Master's degree in a nursing specialty or allied health science is preferred.
- Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant is preferred.
Registered nursing license, nurse practitioner license or physician assistant license is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office suite of products (strong emphasis on PowerPoint.)
- Previous knowledge of Wounded Warrior Operational support preferred.
- Knowledge of TBI and education programs.
- Expertise with researching and tracking legislation.
- Mastery of advanced specialized nursing theories, principles, concepts, and practices to serve as a technical authority by providing expert advice and direction in program development, management, and evaluation.
- Demonstrates research abilities specific to DoD TBI health care services and programs.
- Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
NOTE: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally or 20 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driverís license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required. May encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive. This is not a clinical position, it is a education-focused position.

Office, clinical and hospital environment. Must be available to travel locally, regionally and nationally.
Secret Clearance required. Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information upon hire.
